I would like to pass along to you something very special.
We are fortunate to have a pastor here in the Chicago area who has created the only church of it's kind in the country.
I along with 200 million viewers in more than eleven countries have found my life transformed by Joel Osteen’s weekly broadcast message.
This past summer I attended Joel Osteen's White Sox (U.S. Cellular Field) Stadium event with my wife. It was amazing to participate with an entire stadium which embraced diversity at all levels, all sharing in the simple and uplifting message that Joel offered. It was inspiring to experience community and fellowship at such an uncommon level.
My wife and I look forward to watching Joel every Sunday, but we missed the experience of participating with a local congregation. We had been searching for a new church, but were unable to find a pastor that offered a message which inspired us as much as Joel.
That's where Pastor John Elleson of Arlington Heights' Lakewood Chapel comes in...
One day when searching through Joel Osteen's website I came across a banner button linking to a list of local churches which have created affiliations with Lakewood Church in Houston. I clicked it and found the closest location was in Arlington Heights. It was Lakewood Chapel.
When I searched through Lakewood Chapel's website, I found that they have created the only church in the U.S. to present a live big screen simulcast of Joel Osteen and Lakewood Church’s entire Sunday service. That meant that my wife and I could experience Joel's message and once again enjoy a congregation which offered us the community and fellowship we had long missed.
Pastor John Elleson is building his new congregation with that sole purpose in mind. He offers his own unique "Osteen-esque" message as well.
After the broadcast, those of the congregation who wish to participate meet for a home-style meal cooked by his wife Sue. We sit at tables located in the rectory, eat and chat about life. It’s a very friendly and casual atmosphere. I've never experienced anything like it.
It ends up that John Elleson has a fairly close relationship with Joel Osteen's mother, Dodie, and has established a professional relationship with Joel as well. If you attended Joel's Chicago U.S. Cellular Field summer event, John, Sue and their family were sitting near Joel and Victoria in the bleachers next to the second base lectern.
Joel Osteen and John Elleson have just produced a video advertisement which will soon air on local cable stations. Joel will be offering 200 free copies of his latest bestseller book, "Every Day A Friday", to the next newcomers who attend Lakewood Chapel's 11:00 a.m. weekly Sunday service.
I wish to invite any of Joel's local viewers to participate with our congregation this Sunday. It's a wonderful experience.
